Driftwood Artifacts Chardonnay 2024 is a premium Margaret River Chardonnay with a fresh, modern, but still quite generous style.
Style and region
• It comes from Driftwood Estate in Margaret River, a region known for high‑quality, elegant Chardonnay with natural acidity and fine oak handling.
• The Artifacts range sits just below the Single Site wines, aiming for complexity and polish while remaining approachable and good value.
Flavour profile
• The 2024 Artifacts Chardonnay shows layered citrus peel, white nectarine, papaya, elderflower and almond‑meal notes.
• On the palate it has a creamy texture with good length, balanced by crisp, mineral acidity and high‑quality French oak; expect grapefruit and lemon, white peach, some custard‑apple richness, and subtle spice/cedary oak.
Oak, texture and structure
• The wine is fermented/matured in quality French oak, which contributes toast, spice and nutty complexity without overwhelming the fruit.
• Acidity is described as citrussy and mineral, giving line and freshness to what is otherwise a fairly textured, mid‑weight Chardonnay that should drink well for at least 3–5 years.
